The earth shook with the news.
He is not here; He is risen! And in that moment, joy replaced despair, hope pushed past fear, and life conquered death not just that day, but for eternity.
Awake, O sleeper.
I just went through the time machine that is my blog and stumbled upon this quote from Francis Chan:
“As the caterpillar finds its new ability to fly, we should be thrilled over our Spirit-empowered ability to live differently and faithfully.”
That was almost 2 years ago. A lot has changed and a lot is still in the process of changing. I find myself enthralled with my old blogging habbits. They were vulnerable & from my heart at the time. It’s a beautiful thing & I’m thinking about printing them and putting them in my journal for when Tumblr is no more.
But let’s go back to the quote. It’s no secret to some friends that I’ve been obsessed with Francis Chan’s illustration of our transformation in Christ. From a caterpillar to a butterfly. This seems so elementary, but yet so beautiful to me! We have a Spirit-empowered ability to live differently and faithfully. We are no longer the fat furry little caterpillar. We are completely, 100% different because of our faith in Christ. But do I live that way? Am I still trying to resemble a caterpillar when I have beautiful, multicolored, delicate wings? I feel like I’ve gotten so wrapped up in this busy life lately that I’ve forgotten how to fly.
This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” - Ephesians 5:14

“It’s strange to think of our marriage being portrayed as a remarkable love story, when, for us, we just did what we said we would do - we kept our vows,”
Seriously, this story is one of the strongest examples of marriage in a world where 50% of couples divorce. It’s such a good read. As if I didn’t already want to see this movie…

We are entering to win some big money that could help us in BIG ways as we are launching the family center in South Eastern Uganda.
We need to get the word out about this and have friends and friends of friends help us out!
